As part of an ongoing commitment to protect the environment, reduce pollution and protect the bathing waters in the area, we will be completing essential work in Dawlish to upgrade parts of the sewerage network.

The work will involve installing new pipes to remove surface water from the existing sewer system to alleviate floods and spills during periods of wet weather. The bathing waters in Dawlish are currently classed as ‘excellent’ but without this work the bathing waters in the area are predicted to fall below this standard over the next few years, which will be a detriment to the environment and could impact the local economy.

We will be setting up our site compound and offices off Empsons Hill on Monday 7 June 2021. Please be assured that this is a temporary compound and not a development of this site. Construction work will begin on private land on Tuesday 8 June 2021 and is due to be completed in April 2022.

Regular updates and further information will be available on this page and you will be able to see at the top of the Q&A below when it was last updated.
