We are really pleased to announce the next stage of our phased plan and we are lifting the boil water notice today for properties in the Summercombe and Chestnut Drive supply zone.
Our intensive work and monitoring has returned this part of the network to normal, and the water now meets the high standards our customers expect and is safe to drink.
Today’s decision to lift the boil water notice was made in line with the principles agreed with public health partners, including the UK Health Security Agency and the local authority's Environmental Health department.
We are sorry that customers in the Higher Brixham, Southdown, Upton Manor and St Mary's supply zones are on a different part of the network so the boil water notice will remain in place.
We are continuing to make daily doorstep deliveries of bottled water, this includes customers on our Priority Services Register. Our bottled water stations remain open between 7am and 9pm for collections. We want to thank our customers, visitors and local businesses for their continued patience and understanding.
We can reassure customers still under the boil water notice that we are still working hard to return the water to normal and we will update you on our progress. We are confident that we will be able to announce the further phases of our lifting plan soon.
In the areas where the boil water notice has been lifted, there are some steps customers need to follow before using their water as normal and we will be delivering leaflets today with all the information that is needed. We will also be visiting customers on the Priority Services Register to provide additional support.
Our customer services teams are available if there are questions or concerns. There is also additional information on our website.
If you would like to talk to someone in person, our customer van will be at following locations this week between 2pm and 4pm.
